The Best Restaurants for a Date Night in Singapore

With such a stellar collection of cuisines and restaurants, Singapore makes it easy to enjoy a delicious night out. But where to go when you take that special someone?

Right now, there is not so much to do in Singapore except for dining. Luckily, Singapore has a lot of gems, and there are some great deals during the pandemic that make the dining experience more affordable. Here are my favorite places for a date night in Singapore.

Empress

Located at the Asian Civilizations Museum, this place is the restaurant to go to for a nice Asian dinner. The Empress offers a good selection of classic Chinese dishes in City Hall. With the view of the Boat Quay, the Singapore River, the Anderson Bridge, the Fullerton Hotel and not to forget the CBD skyline, one gets everything to see, plus fantastic and authentic Chinese food. There are also many vegetarian options, which is rare for Chinese Kitchen.

Bar Cicheti

Italian pasta-and-wine bar in Keong Saik // 10 Jiak Chuan Rd, Singapore 089264

Tucked in a charming corner of Singapore’s Keong Saik enclave, Bar Cicheti offers great and traditional Italian food and wine at reasonable prices in a very romantic ambiance. I personally like their small outdoor seating, too.

The Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens

The Halia is located right in the heart of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and follows the concept of a restaurant in a garden and a garden in a restaurant. The main dining hall, called the Dining Room, with its warm earthy interiors, high ceiling, and full glass walls offering views of the Ginger Garden, brings nature into the restaurant, while the al fresco dining area, called the Viewing Deck is surrounded by lush greenery. The Halia is officially certified Halal and doesn’t serve alcohol but botanical drinks that are worth a try.

Fat Prince

Fat Prince is an indulgent yet classy, hideaway Istanbul-inspired café and kebabery in Tanjong Pagar. Using only the freshest regional ingredients and spices from the Middle East, the restaurants bring a whole new perspective on Middle Eastern cuisine. And the best thing is that the menu is perfect for sharing: The menu contains meze, fresh salads and the best hummus in Singapore, and fancy drinks worth a try.

Publico Ristorante

Publico is one of my favorite places in Singapore. Not only because I love their environment and outdoor seating near the river, I also appreciate their Italian-inspired kitchen as, to me, but it also tastes very authentic, and their pizza is probably the best in Singapore. Their drinks and wine menu is also great, and the comfortable outdoor settings are perfect for a date night in Robertson Quay.

Panamericana

Panamericana is one of the Sentosa restaurants that everyone talks about. Located in Singapore’s finest and most prestigious golf club, you might expect a superb layout and amazing food, and you won’t be disappointed. Set against the South China Sea, the Panamericana offers a relaxing and stylish setting with mesmerizing ocean views.

Vue

Singapore’s first rooftop spritz bar at // OUE Bayfront, 50 Collyer Quay Rooftop Level 19, 049321

I only tried the VUE just recently but was smashed by its great ambiance, the casual Scandinavian yet elegant decor, and the stunning view on Marina Bay (including the world-famous hotel and the Singapore Flyer).

Jypsy
